36 Weeks and Counting!

I saw my consultant Wendy on Monday 9/11/06, for a retightening, and thought I would take the opportunity to update my blog. I am 36 weeks into my lock journey and loving it. I finally have more locked hair than permed ends, hooray! The perm is actually just coming off on it's own. I will admit to having a few episodes of loc envy, where I took a pair of scissors to a few of my locs to rid them of the permed ends. I just wanted the little curly q natural ends... I managed to regain my composure without doing too much damage.

I must give a shout out to Maryee, for helping me figure out how to create a photo collage as I had been admiring the ones on her blog but for the life of me could not figure out how to create one of my own. Thank you! Posted by Picasa

Wow...your hair is really coming along! Aren't those relaxed ends annoying? :)

Thank you! They are indeed annoying, but I was too chicken to do the "big chop" prior to locking. I'm just glad it's growing so hopefully I can be rid of them soon.

Thanks! Glad you figured out how to post collages. Photobucket is nice as well. Your hair is coming along fine!!! Happy 9th anniversary!

Hello neighbor! Im locking on Monday and my concern is that my consultant wants to do micro locks and I want small ones. Do you have an opinion on what to go with? By the way ur locks look great

Hi Char! Congratulations on your decision to lock - you're gonna love them! As far as the size of your locks - mine are small around the hairline and a bit larger - (medium/small) in the middle. I'm no consultant but I have discussed with my consultant that they will condense over time and become smaller on their own so it may not be good to start w/ all micro's. If they're going to get even smaller, it might compromise the strength and integrity of the lock over time. Who is your consultant? Have they given you a reason why they would go micro (your hair type or density)? I would ask and get some clarification and be sure I felt comfortable with the answers. That's a lot of time and money to invest - be sure you get what you want and expect. Keep me posted.
