Congratulations! Your locks look great and you look very adorable.

Blaqkofi - Thank you, that is such a compliment coming from you. After reading your blog, I started on the wheatgrass smoothie regimen. When I'm faithful to the regimen, my hair grows faster than when I'm not using it, and it does seem healthier.

LaChanda - I so appreciate the compliment. This is a totally different look from having the perm ends. It feels like I'm starting all over again.

Tanya - Thank you! I might have to copy you with the Renee hair tie, it looks so cute on you. I need just a little more length...

Congrats and welcome to real freedom!

Leighann - Thank you! I am loving my new found freedom.

Hey Girl,

The hair is looking fierce. Lana did a good job. I like your hair even more than I did before.

Abena, Sharon, Michelle, and LaTonya - thank you all for your kind compliments! I'm feeling so free I'm going to have to dust my soft spikes off. Freestyling all the way baby!

I love using the term OPH and folks always laugh when I tell them what it means. But I do remember back in the day when I would boldly say I had "IBM" hair, meaning, "I bought Mine!!!" Now I guess we need to say we have "IAM" hair, meaning, "It's All Mine!" Congrats on freedom from the LYE!! Welcome to IAM!!

Chocolata said...

Maryee - "IAM", I love it! I'll be using that. Thank you.

Chocolata, belated congrats on your 1 year locaversary. You said that you're fully locked. Please share with me how you know. Did the lock fairy tell ya? lol I'm being silly and inquisitive cuz I want to know want is the defining moment when one can speak the words I'm locked. Is there a certain look or feel to them? I still say I'm locking but I look forward to speaking those words.

Valenciajaz - I was thrilled when my loctician informed me that I was "locked" just meaning that my ends are matted enough that I can manipulate my hair, wash it, whatever, without fear of unraveling. The ends feel tight and coarse though I do have a couple around my hairline which are still soft and have curly q's at the end. HTH.
